Books on My To-Be-Read List

Back in January, I set a goal to read 52 books this year. I’m currently at 43 with about five weeks left in the year to make my goal. The math tells me I need to complete a book every four days or so. Despite those odds, I believe I can make it to 52!

Aside: Before I go on, you probably need to know three things about me.

  1. I love to read.
  2. I love to make lists.
  3. I love to set and reach goals.

These cold, gray winter days are set a perfect scene for reading. It is so easy to get caught up in a book and lose all sense of time. My taste in books is fairly eclectic, too. While I tend to favor thrillers, chick lit, and romance, I still manage to read a fair amount of nonfiction, as well. I even love young adult literature. You can take the teacher out of middle school, but you can’t take the middle school out of the teacher, I suppose. The only genre that is totally out for me is sci-fi. No dragons, please and thank you.

I’m currently plowing through a totally trashy but enjoyable novella collection called A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe. What can I say… it’s an easy and free read from Kindle Unlimited. I don’t indulge in these types of books too often, but when there’s a cowboy on the cover, I am powerless to resist!

Here are five books that I have loaded on my Kindle to read:

  1. Murder at the Courthouse  by A.H. Gabhart (a cozy Christian mystery by a Kentucky writer)
  2. The Girl Before by JP Delaney (book club selection for December- a thriller)
  3. The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson (book club selection for January- historical fiction set in Kentucky)
  4. Dashing Through the Snow by Debbie Macomber (seasonal romance fun)
  5. The Next Always by Nora Roberts (a romance with a pretty cover)

What are you reading? Leave me a comment!

I love your entire gifting plan but especially the fact that you discuss it with the kids. You’ve given them…
